Tattoo booked?
Time to get ready
Pre-tattoo advice
Whether it is your first tattoo, or it's just been a while, here are some tips to help you prepare your body and skin best for your tattoo. This will give your tattoo the best chance of healing optimally.

IN READINESS FOR YOUR TATTOO
Reduce/limit the amount of alcohol consumed in the days prior to your tattoo
Alcohol thins the blood and makes tattooing more difficult and can cause issues with the finished result too. Any products that thin your blood can cause issues, so mention if any medication may also have an effect.

Keep out of the sun
We cannot tattoo sunburnt skin! So keep the site of the tattoo out of the sun.

Drink water
Keep hydrated as much as possible in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin is best!

ON THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT

Eat
Eat a meal before the appointment. Your body can't run on empty and it will be undergoing stress, so you'll need the energy. Bring snacks too, especially in longer sessions.

Drink
Drink plenty before the appointment and bring water with you.

Avoid caffeine
Coffee thins the blood. So try your best to reduce your intake.

No alcohol or drugs

Wear comfortable clothes
Something that you can access the tattoo site easiest, whilst keeping comfortable.
Shower
Wash yourself on the day of the appointment. This will clean the skin prior to the fresh tattoo.
Bring distractions
Whether you have a long session or not, please feel free to bring headphones to listen to your music or podcasts, a book or even a fidget toy. Try and keep in your happy place as much as possible during the appointment!
